Background
Aiming to add a much more human touch to the complex and often emotive world of Human Resources, Altogethr is the second sub brand developed as part of the Future Prospects Group, offering specialist HR support services.
Brief
Create a brand new name and identity with togetherness at the heart of it.
Solution
With the central theme of the brief being based around the concept of togetherness, ‘Altogether’ quickly became a preferred naming option, but as it is such a common word the initial research revealed it was already featured heavily across various different industries. That’s when I had the moment of inspiration and noticed that the word contained the initial letters H & R.
Therefore, by removing the letter ‘e’ from Altogether, this not only created a more unique spelling of the word — making it more easily available for domain names and social media accounts, etc — but also placed the two key letters of the business at the end of that word.
In considering how to account for this missing letter, so that it didn’t just look like a typo, it occurred to me that it would make perfect sense to create an abstract asterisk as a logomark to denote the missing character. Finding a way to link into the theme of togetherness with individual shapes and colours coming together to form one central graphic device.
Placing this abstract asterisk on the wordmark above where this missing letter would be and conveniently highlighting the letters HR and completing this carefully considered identity.
